Fidelity Visa Signature Card
My go-to card for international travel with no foreign transaction fees and 2% cash back.
The Fidelity® Visa Signature® Card is my default card for international travel. Simple rewards, no foreign transaction fees, and broad acceptance worldwide.
Why I use it
- No Foreign Transaction Fees: Many credit cards quietly charge a 3% fee on every international purchase. Spend $4,000 abroad and that is an extra $120 gone for nothing. The Fidelity card charges 0%.
- Flat 2% Cash Back: Everything earns 2% cash back with no categories to track or activate. Rewards can be automatically deposited into a Fidelity brokerage, IRA, or cash management account.
- Global Entry / TSA PreCheck Credit: The card reimburses the application fee for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck once every four years. Technically this comes as 10,000 Reward Points, equal to $100 when redeemed into a qualifying Fidelity account.
- Visa Acceptance Worldwide: Visa is accepted almost everywhere internationally, including many places where Amex is unreliable or not accepted at all.
- Pairs Perfectly with the Fidelity Debit Card: The setup works especially well alongside the Fidelity Cash Management Account debit card. Use the credit card for purchases and the debit card for fee-free ATM withdrawals abroad.
A Few Things to Know
- The full 2% value requires redeeming rewards into an eligible Fidelity account.
- The card is best for people who value simplicity over travel points optimization.
- Approval generally requires good credit.
